Arctic Carbon Cycle Research Synthesis:
Synthesis of Arctic System Carbon Cycle Research Through Model-Data Fusion Studies Using Atmospheric Inverse and Process-Based Approaches
This is a National Science Foundation supported collaborative research project under the Arctic System Science (ARCSS) - Synthesis of Arctic System Science (SASS) Program.
Amongst the participating institutions, project cooperators are conducting research that (1) effectively integrates data on carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) dynamics of the Arctic System using a combination of prognostic and inverse approaches and (2) provides an integrative approach to estimating and understanding the exchanges of CO2 and CH4 from terrestrial and marine components of the system including a consideration of the lateral exchange of C between the terrestrial and marine components of the Arctic System.
